Manchester United target James Rodriguez is set to complete his transfer to Real Madrid on Monday for a reportedly astronomical €90 million fee.
Sport Witness carries a report from French newspaper L'Equipe that suggests the Colombia international is closing in on a dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu and will be formally announced as a Los Blancos player at the start of next week.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal had been credited with an interest in bringing the 23-year-old forward to Old Trafford this summer, but has been forced to give up the chase after Rodriguez made clear his desire to move to La Liga.

Rodriguez netted six goals for Jose Pekerman's side en route to the quarter-finals, but was unable to prevent his country crashing out against the host nation. He did however claim the Golden Boot after neither Lionel Messi or Thomas Mueller could add to their respective tallies in the final last Sunday.
The South American star only joined Monaco for a reported €45 million fee last summer, and with four years still to run on the five-year contract he initially signed, Real Madrid have been forced to pay huge money to sign him.
Too expensive
It's unlikely that Manchester United would've even sanctioned a bid of that size, even if Rodriguez appeared willing to move to the Premier League.
RMC Sport believe that the player will earn €120,000-a-week in the Spanish capital, signing another long-term five-year deal to secure his long-term future.
