Gibson is ready for battle next season (©GettyImages). Leicester Tigers youngster Jamie Gibson is ready to fight for his place in the starting XV, despite increased competition for places.
Gibson was one of Leicester's stand out performers last season in the Aviva Premiership, which won him the award of Newcomer of the year, as voted for by the fans.
Despite this impressive first season for the Tigers, it will not be as straightforward this year for the former Marlborough College student.

Gibson will face a battle for his starting spot on the team with Tom Croft returning from injury and new acquisitions Robert Barbieri and Laurence Pearce ready to make their mark at Welford Road.
Further young talents are desperate to prove a point and earn a starting place for last year's Premiership semi-finalists, but Gibson is ready to fight.
Young talent
'At this stage it's very much about kicking on again. I want to keep improving,' The 23-year-old told the club website
'In some ways you all start again. You've got Crofty coming back, Steve Mafi here, Julian Salvi and some of the best back row players in the world so my aim will be to play as much as possible and play as well as possible.
'Last season was everything I could have possibly hoped for. Coming to Leicester, playing as much as you can and playing in the big games. I got a few chances and I felt like I kicked on.'
'To be involved in those sort of games and then to be picked on the edge of England squad for the Barbarians game, it just makes me hungry for even more.'
Increased competition
Gibson was first recognised playing Rugby for Marlborough College, who have gone on to produce some of the future stars in recent years, including Gloucester's Charlie Norman and Bath youngsters Elliott Herrod-Taylor and Archie Lynas.
