Patrice Evra to join Juventus on Monday as Vidal talks continue

Patrice Evra is set to join Juventus..

Juventus are hopeful that Manchester United will agree to announce a deal to take Patrice Evra to Turin on Monday, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper also claims that Juventus are willing to accept a €45 million offer for Arturo Vidal as the summer's biggest transfer saga rumbles on.

Officials from both Manchester United and Juventus must be sick of the sight of each other. It seems that talks between the clubs for both Evra and Vidal have been going on forever. Vidal will obviously be the bigger news story, but it appears Evra is closer to completing him move to Serie A.

Contract confusion

The France international had reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus a while ago, but having signed a one-year extension with Manchester United weeks earlier, the Italian champions still had to agree a fee with the Red Devils. Having done that, it appeared the transfer would be finalised last week, until Antonio Conte quit Juventus in dramatic fashion.

That led to reports that Evra was considering tearing up his agreement with Juventus in favour of staying at Manchester United, but it appears Juventus have managed to allay his fears that the club will struggle without him.

They are hopeful that a deal can be announced tomorrow (Monday) but will first seek clearance from Manchester United to do so.

€45 million for Vidal

That may depend on Juventus' willingness to sell Louis van Gaal's key target Vidal. The Chilean midfielder has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford but it appears a move is closer than ever.

Juventus are now willing to accept a fee of €45m for the player as they believe they can strengthen with the money generated. Gazzetta name the likes of Stevan Jovetic and Erik Lamela amongst Juventus's potential list of targets should Vidal complete a move to Old Trafford.

As Van Gaal is rumoured to have more than £100 million left in the transfer kitty, it is hard to see it not happening this summer.
