Manchester United spelt Radamel Falcao's name incorrectly. A Manchester United supporter has been left bitterly disappointed after receiving a brand new shirt with Radamel Falcao’s surname spelt incorrectly on the back of it.
ESPN’s Dale Johnson posted an image of the ‘FLACAO’ shirt on Twitter, alongside the message: “Just received by a friend of ESPN FC courtesy of the Man United club shop”.
It’s a rather embarrassing fail from Manchester United’s online store - although fortunately it does appear to have been a one-off.
Falcao to make debut on Sunday
The Red Devils’ faithful are desperate to catch their first glimpse of Falcao wearing a Manchester United shirt on the Old Trafford pitch. The 28-year-old, who has joined United on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, is set to make his United debut against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
But the kit-man at Old Trafford is likely to take a little more care and attention than United Direct.
'Flacao' isn't United's only previous mistake
Although saying that, as this image shows, Manchester United have a worrying track record of spelling their employees’ names wrong on the back of their shirts.
Brazilian midfielder Anderson once wore a shirt labelled ‘Andesron’; goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak was once given an extra ‘Z’ at the start of his surname, while United even managed to mis-spell the surname of club legend Ole Gunner Solskjaer.
Most surprisingly of all, though, United once sent the world-famous David Beckham out to play wearing a shirt which said ‘Beckam’ on the back of it. There are no words.
So, Falcao is in reasonably good company on this occasion - and if he goes on to enjoy half as much success as either Beckham or Solskjaer, he’ll have been well worth the money United are paying.

Falcao could cost United £74m
The Premier League giants could end up paying as much as £74 million for Falcao, if they decide to make his move a permanent transfer next summer.
It’s reported that the Colombian star will be earning an astronomical £350,000-a-week at Old Trafford - or a total of £24 million over the course of the 2014/15 campaign.
They will then need to pay Monaco around £50 million to secure his services on a permanent basis.
Whether that happens or not will depend on Falcao himself. United hope the world-class number nine can fire the Red Devils to a top-four finish this season, and subsequently a place in the 2015/16 Champions League.
Falcao is expected to become United’s new first-choice centre-forward, with Robin van Persie in danger of dropping down to the subs’ bench.
