Indian player dies after celebration disaster .

Peter Biaksangzuala has tragically died after attempting a somersault goal celebration for Indian side Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, reports the Metro.

The 23-year-old found the net in the 62nd minute against Chanmari West FC last week, and opted to perform an acrobatic celebration. This, to the shock of his teammates, went horribly wrong as he landed on his head, which resulted in him being taken to hospital.

Disaster

Ultimately, though, Biaksangzuala lost his life in the local hospital on Sunday morning after damaging his spinal cord.

A source said: "He was trying to do Germany’s Klose signature flip stunt, but it misfired unfortunately."

The outcome of the incident will certainly bring shock to the footballing community of India, with the potential consequences of celebrations surely being looked at in closer detail over the coming weeks and months.

The video of the celebration can be seen below, with the incident taking place after 2:30 minutes.

Miroslav Klose

Miroslav Klose, of course, is just one of a number of footballing stars who has attempted a somersault celebration after scoring a goal in recent years. The legendary German striker is not the only one, however, with the the likes of Nani, Obafemi Martins and Co. having all wowed crowds in recent time.

Perhaps, then, there shouldn't be a place for somersaults on the football pitch after this disastrous incident.
