Antonio Conte offered £42m to quit Chelsea this summer

Inter will offer Antonio Conte a contract worth £41.8m to get him to quit Chelsea this summer, according to reports in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Conte, along with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, are the two managers Inter __have on their radar to replace Stefano Pioli at the end of the season.

But while Inter believe that Simeone would be easier to acquire than Conte, that will not stop the Serie A club from trying to lure the Chelsea manager.

Inter are ready to offer Conte a five-year contract worth just over £8.3m a season.

Conte, who remains on course to win the Premier League in his first season at Stamford Bridge, has admitted he is missing his family since his move to England.

Both his wife and his daughter __have remained in Italy, although Conte has confirmed they are both planning to relocate to England this year.

Last month, reports also claimed that Conte is unhappy with Chelsea’s board over their transfer policy and wants a bigger say in this summer’s deals.

The Telegraph suggest Costa, Moses and Alonso all missed training on Friday due to sickness but the Spanish wing-back passed himself fit for the clash.

However, Alonso pulled up in Chelsea’s pre-match warm-up which prompted a tactical switch from Antonio Conte – and the club believe this may __have contributed towards the side’s poor showing.

Both Costa and Moses started the Old Trafford encounter but the out-of-form striker put in another sup-bar performance and the defender was brought off in only the 54th minute.

An injury to Thibaut Courtois also derailed the league leaders ahead of the match and it’s believed the Belgian will miss out on this weekend’s FA Cup showdown with Tottenham.

While Conte has played down the impact of injuries and illness, it’s understood the club were concerned in the lead-up to the United game.

Cristiano Ronaldo has called on Real Madrid fans to stop whistling him after his hat-trick fired the club past Bayern Munich to the Champions League semi-final.

Zinedine Zidane’s side secured a 4-2 victory over the German champions, largely thanks to Ronaldo’s second-half treble which has made him the first player in history to score 100 goals in the Champions League.

Ronaldo has been jeered by Madrid supporters at times this season, and the 32-year-old has urged supporters to refrain from showing negativity towards him in future matches.

‘Bayern showed that they were an excellent team, but we played very well,’ he told Antena 3.

‘We had a lot of chances. We scored two goals. We’re used to suffering, but we’re very happy.

‘Madrid were better, it’s not easy to score six goals against Bayern. We’re fair winners.

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in history to score 100 goals in the Champions League after his hat-trick fired Real Madrid past Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.

The 32-year-old ran to Madrid’s rescue once again as Zinedine Zidane’s side looked close to being eliminated at the quarter-final stage.

Ronaldo netted an equaliser after Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the second half.

But with just 13 minutes remaining, Sergio Ramos guided the ball into his own net to force extra time.

Ronaldo struck twice in extra time to swing the tie back in Madrid’s favour before Marco Asensio found the net to complete a 4-2 win for Zidane’s men.

Ronaldo is now six goals clear of Messi in the competition, while the Argentine is in action with Barcelona against Juventus on Wednesday night.

It is telling that of the 10,000 runs he has scored, only 1519 __have come while he was playing for the West Indies. He has also played a total of 289 T20 matches off which only 50 have been with the West Indies shirt.

While he plays in T20 tournaments all over the world, it is in the IPL that he has earned notoriety of having the ability to spoil any bowler’s day. He is the man with the most centuries in the IPL. His blistering knock of 175 off 66 balls for RCB against Pune Warriors in 2014 is the highest individual score in T20 cricket.

This season, though, Gayle has been struggling to make a significant impact with the bat. He was dropped from the line up for accommodating AB de Villiers and has otherwise made 32, 6 and 22 thus far.
