Van Gaal set to arrive at Manchester United .

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is set to step up his efforts to bring new signings to Old Trafford when he arrives at the club next week.

As reported by the Guardian, the new United boss, who saw his Dutch side beaten in the World Cup semi-final against Argentina last night, is set to step up his hunt for new signings as soon as he takes up his position on a permanent basis.

Trio

And it appears that duo Mats Hummels and Angel di Maria, who have been valued at £75million, as well as Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal are all on the new United boss' wish list. Vidal, who starred for Chile in Brazil, has been rated at £32m, meaning the three of them could cost the club as much as £107m this summer.

It remains to be seen, however, as to whether the new Red Devils boss can persuade the three highly rated superstars to join him at the Theatre of Dreams, but United fans will certainly be getting excited ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Completed deals

Despite Van Gaal having been focussed on the World Cup of late, United have already added to their squad in this transfer window. The Red Devils have completed a deal to bring Spanish ace Ander Herrera to the club, and have also signed English starlet Luke Shaw from Southampton.

Manchester United fans will now be hoping that Van Gaal can further add to his squad, as the club look to regain their European status at the first attempt. The likes of Hummels, Di Maria and Vidal would certainly prove marquee signings under the new regime, but what would they offer the club in 2014/15?
