Radamel Falcao holds key to Ronaldo's Manchester United return

Manchester United may look to land Cristiano Ronaldo next summer after the Real Madrid star’s latest comments - and Radamel Falcao holds the potential key to any move.

According to the Daily Mail, the £50m-rated Colombian international is still a top priority for the Spanish giants despite his loan move to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, who earlier this week admitted the pull of a return to Manchester United is getting stronger, could leave the Bernabeu if it helps Carlo Ancelotti get Falcao.

Both Falcao and Ronaldo are represented by the same agent, Jorge Mendes. And the report claims such is his power at Real Madrid, Mendes could quite easily facilitate a deal for both clubs, bringing Falcao to the Bernabeu and sending Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Falcao’s top priority was always to move to Real Madrid this summer, but having already spent £63m on James Rodriguez, the La Liga giants could not make the maths work.

As a result, the Colombian striker has moved on a season-long loan to United, where he will bide his time and look to move to Real Madrid again next summer.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG were all approached by Falcao’s representatives over a move but Manchester United were the only ones willing to meet his financial demands.

Mendes earned around €5m from the loan deal, although that figure would be dwarfed by any potential Falcao - Ronaldo swap.
