Welbeck joined Arsenal on deadline day. (©GettyImages). Tottenham are ready to consider the dismissal of technical director Franco Baldini after the Italian allowed Danny Welbeck to join Arsenal on transfer deadline day, reports The People.
Chairman Daniel Levy is said to be furious at missing out on the striker, who was made available for transfer by Manchester United, especially as he joined Tottenham's north London rivals instead.

Levy had placed a new striker as the first priority for and was confident of landing Welbeck after being notified he could leave Old Trafford for £16 million. Now Levy has been forced to consider Baldini's position after the deal fell through.
Baldini chopped
The farce surrounding the Welbeck deal was just one more controversy in a line of questionable decisions from Baldini. The Italian's position at White Hart Lane is growing increasingly fragile as both Levy and head coach Mauricio Pochettino grow increasingly unhappy with his work in the transfer market.
Pochettino and Baldini were originally labelled as a good partnership with the Argentinian thought to be the first choice of the technical director to replace Tim Sherwood. However, even Pochettino has been left worried by Baldini's movements.
Player exits
The former Southampton coach was said to be concerned over Baldini's efforts to sell Nacer Chadli, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend despite wanting the trio in his squad. Baldini's move was thought to be an effort to push Erik Lamela into the squad but all three ended up staying in north London.
Townsend failed to complete a move to Southampton while Lennon rejected the chance to join Sunderland, QPR and Stoke.
Evolution not revolution
The attempts to revolutionise the squad went against Pochettino's view of the squad. The manager only moved to Tottenham on the promise that few changes would be made to the squad after their £110 million spending spree the previous summer.
However, Pochettino did want a new striker and has been left disappointed after moves for three of his chosen targets - Loic Remy, Wilfried Bony and Welbeck - failed to materialise.
Welbeck deal
Welbeck has since proved to be the tipping point after the striker managed to force through a move to Arsenal on the final days on the transfer window. Arsene Wenger commissioned a £16 million offer which Manchester United begrudgingly accepted.
Louis van Gaal was not keen on seeing a youth product join a Premier League rival but after moving for Radamel Falcao, the Dutchman was under pressure to balance the books before the deadline closed.
With Champions League football on offer and world-class stars like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Welbeck reportedly preferred a move to the Emirates over White Hart Lane.
