England rugby star Alex Corbisiero has just been ruled out until January with shoulder ligament damage. However, while he is away from the game, he may well be preparing to start up a new career.

The 26-year-old appears on the Clare Balding Show on BT Sport along with fellow guests including Rio Ferdinand, where he took to the mic and performed an impressive 30-second freestyle rap that had the audience in stitches.

QPR defender Ferdinand is the influence for Corbisiero's attempt, encouraging him to do the rap by tapping his hand on his own microphone to provide a beat.

New career?

And despite a nervy opening couple of seconds, the England prop didn't disappoint with a well-executed verse that even 35-year-old Ferdinand would have been proud of.

At one point during the song, the rugby man takes a swipe at the amount of money footballer Rio is on compared to him, resulting in Ferdinand cracking up and host Clare Balding clapping her hands together in delight.

The weekly show hosted by Balding attracts the biggest names in sport to talk about the weekly sporting events and a look into their own personal careers.

To see the full interview with Alex Corbisiero watch The Clare Balding Show on BT Sport 2 at 10.00pm this Friday.
