As most golf fans now know, Steve Williams, current caddy for Adam Scott and former caddy of Tiger Woods, will not be on the bag for Scott next year claiming he is looking to spend more time with family.
While Williams has expressed interest in part time work, in a recent development, he told the Associated Press yesterday that he would consider working for Tiger Woods again.

Reconciliation
Wait what? Hold the phone for a second. Steve Williams wants to work with Tiger Woods again?
That does not seem to make a lot of sense considering that up until this statement, everyone in the golf world was under the impression that good old “Stevie”, as Tiger used to call him, hated Tiger’s guts.
Right after the sudden firing in 2011, Williams claimed he was let go through a phone call. Now in actuality, Williams says Tiger was angry with him when he caddied over the weekend for Adam Scott in the 2011 US Open, even though he had gotten Tiger’s approval, and that is supposedly what led to his release.
Either way, the famous caddy has not been on good terms with Tiger ever since. In 2011, Scott won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational with the Aussie on the bag, and Williams called it the “greatest week of my life”.
Anger
Really? Better than all those majors with Tiger, better than the 2010 US Open showdown at Torey Pines with Rocco Mediate? It is fair to say that Williams may have been a little angry at Tiger at the time.
But even three years later, golf analysts alike still assumed there was animosity between the two. In an article published in Golf Digest on March 11, 2014, Williams said: "I haven't sorted anything out with him. There's been a lot of . . . this, that and the other . . . but the hatchet hasn't been buried,"
Furthermore, on September 16, less than a month ago, Williams told CBS Sports that he hated when Tiger called him “Stevie”. He continued to say that there has been no correspondence at all between the two.
Apology
This all leads back to the question: Has something happened in the last two or three weeks between Tiger Woods and Steve Williams? It certainly seems that way. Tiger has had a lot of time to do nothing and think while working through his injury. Maybe he apologized. Maybe the two hugged it out and had a good old fashion cry together, rehashing over the good old times.
But whatever did happen, if anything at all, there is the chance Woods and Williams will rekindle their work relationship, especially with Williams’ recent statement.
Reunion
And what a story that would be. The return of probably the best caddy/golfer combination in history. Steve and Tiger were together during the prime of Tiger’s career, when he was winning 25% of the events he played in. Steve was also on the bag for 13 of the 14 majors that Tiger has won.
Imagine if they not only joined up once again, but also made a charge at the golden bear and closed in on Jack Nicklaus’ all time major record. It is just a waiting game now to see if the reunion happens, but with Steve Williams’ recent comment, do not be surprised if it does.
