Conte was promised Vidal would not be sold.. Antonio Conte has walked out on Juventus just hours after Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Arturo Vidal, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
The news is only just breaking around the world that the talented manager, who has guided Juventus to three successive Serie A title wins, has departed the Turin club.
So far, reports can only speculate as to the reason why Conte has made the shock decision, but the famous Italian newspaper claims to have an early incite.
Transfer business
They say that Conte has been left wholly disappointed by Juventus's failure in the transfer window thus far. Both Juan Cuadrado and Alexis Sanchez were wanted by Conte, but neither have joined. The latter instead decided to move to Arsenal while no move has been made for the former.
He is also said to be unhappy with the club's pursuit of Manchester United veteran Patrice Evra. Conte deems the left-back as a cheap, short-term solution to a problem he was hoping to solve with a young, impressive addition.
Vidal agreement
However, the most interesting claim from the pink pages is that Manchester United have, in the last few hours, submitted an improved bid for their long-term target Vidal, one which Juventus have accepted. This may have proved to be the final straw for Conte.

Vidal only just signed a new contract this year and the player himself said he is happy to remain. But after a stellar World Cup with Chile, Juventus must have thought now was the best time to part ways with the midfielder.
£34 million price tag
There is no word on what the value of Manchester United's bid is, but reports in England claimed Juventus wanted £34 million for Vidal. Manchester United weren't prepared to meet it this time yesterday, but the fact they have agreed a deal today hints that they may have succumbed to the demand.
World-record kit deal
That would not be surprising considering Manchester United announced a world-record kit deal with adidas, which comes into effect at the start of the 2015-16 season. It is not just a world-record, at £75 million-a-season, it is more than double the current biggest kit deal - Real Madrid with adidas at £31 million.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal already had plenty to spend this summer, but the confirmation of the deal may just have put even more bread on the table.
