Roy has so far hit six half-centuries in nine T20 matches with a top score of 81 not out. He is also the leading six hitter with 17 maximums and the leading run scorer in the competition with 471 runs with a strike rate of around 150 runs per 100 balls.
Great form
Last Wednesday, Roy hit one of his most impressive innings this season as Surrey cruised to victory over Kent by eight wickets. He hit a magnificent 79 off just 46 balls as he outshone fellow opener, and Sri Lanka star, Tillakaratne Dilshan in their opening century stand.

Born in Durban, South Africa, the 23-year-old moved to England when he was 10-years-old and has represented Surrey at all age groups from under 11s. He made his first-class debut in 2008, but it wasn't until 2010 that he managed to breakthrough again.
England Lions
Roy has already received previous recognition from England after being selected for the Performance Programme tour to India and the England Lions tour to Sri Lanka in 2012 but he will hope these will be added to.
Although his best performances this year have been in the T20 format, Roy will be looking at the newly formed Royal London One-Day Cup to also make an impression when it begins at the end of this month.
2015 World Cup
If he can impress in this format of the game, Roy could make a push for the England winter touring squad, which will be concentrating on one-day cricket in preparation for the fifty-over World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand in February 2015.
And, at such a young age, more opportunities could well come the way of the talented right-hander over the next decade.
