Interest

Quintero would certainly prove a major coup for the Emirates outfit, with a number of clubs having been credited with interest in his services in recent time. Arsenal's Premier League rivals Manchester United have previously been linked with the highly rated winger, with the report in the Metro suggesting that Spanish duo Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown interest.

It now seems likely, though, that the 21-year-old will join Wenger's side ahead of the new season. Gunners fans will certainly be excited by the possible signing after he impressed throughout the World Cup. Skilful, with an eye for goal, Quintero could offer the Gunners another option going forward next term.

Fifth signing?

Quintero, then, could become the Gunners' fifth major signing of the summer, with the club having already landed Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and David Ospina in this window.

The quartet already signed look set to play a key role in the first team next term, with Sanchez and Debuchy expected to be regulars in the side. Chambers and Ospina, meanwhile, will have to work hard in order to play week in week out in 2014/15.

Future

Gunners fans will certainly be excited heading into the new season, with the club looking to build upon their FA Cup success from 2013/14. Last season's fourth place finish helped them secure Champions League football for the up coming campaign, but they will be desperate to land the Premier League title next term.

Arsenal certainly appear to be in better shape heading into the new season, and will be hoping to make early statement in the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10. Wenger's side, meanwhile, kick off their Premier League venture against Crystal Palace at the Emirates on August 16.
