Blind could yet leave Ajax.. Manchester United can complete a swift double deal in the coming days, as Ajax star Daley Blind has revealed that he is open to the idea of moving if a “nice club” comes in.
Blind, who has been a priority target for Louis van Gaal since the Dutchman took over officially at Old Trafford, has confirmed that he is waiting for his biggest suitors to register an interest by way of lodging a formal offer, and refused to play down talk of an imminent exit. The 24-year-old excelled during this summer’s World Cup campaign - coincidentally under Van Gaal - and his future at Ajax has been shrouded in uncertainty as a result.
Blind awaits move
On more than one occasion it’s been reported that the full-back has been close to making an Old Trafford switch, only for one thing or another to scupper the momentum of a deal. Now though the player himself has confirmed that he is waiting to see what happens with his future, adding that he’s under no pressure at all to leave his current club.
“Certainly I don't need to leave and I am happy with all the support," he said, according to the Daily Express.
"But if a nice club comes, then we'll talk. And then we'll see."

Blind at United
Naturally his comments have paved the way for speculation that Van Gaal will look to move for him once the ordeal regarding Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo is complete. The Argentinian confirmed this morning that he believed himself to be heading to United, but there remains ends to tie up before any official announcement is made.
Once the saga is resolved either way though Van Gaal will surely now turn his attentions to Blind, who is every bit as effective in the centre of midfield or defence as he is in the wide positions. Though primarily used for The Netherlands as an attacking wing-back, the Ajax man’s versatility will appeal to his former national boss, who is looking to bolster several parts of his first-team squad.
Potential move
United are also boosted by the fact that Ajax boss Frank de Boer appears unlikely to stand in the way of any move should a satisfactory bid come in. The most recent estimations of his valuation lie around the £20 million mark, which the Red Devils would comfortably be able to afford given Ed Woodward’s recent boasts about having the financial clout to break the record if the right transfer comes along.
There may yet be a potential obstacle though, with Barcelona also having registered an interest in the past few weeks. Luis Enrique, like Van Gaal, is looking to make the squad he inherited his own, and Blind was quoted as having stated his belief that La Liga could perhaps be more suited to his abilities.
