Manchester United new boy Marcos Rojo is facing the prospect of a jail sentence in his native Argentina if found guilty of a bottle attack on a neighbour in 2010.
The Sunday People reports that the £16 million signing from Sporting Lisbon is set for a court date for an alleged incident that occurred almost four years ago in La Plata, Buenos Aires, with prosecutors growing increasingly keen for the player to stand trial.

Rojo was celebrating a move from Estudiantes to Spartak Moscow when an altercation with Juan Pablo Gomez broke out, resulting in injuries to the “face, body and forearm” of the victim.
If convicted, the Red Devils ace could spend anything up to 12 months in prison, which would come as a huge blow to Louis van Gaal, having just splashed out a significant sum to bring him to Old Trafford.
How will Rojo plead?
Prosecutor Marcelo Romero is still waiting to hear from Rojo’s lawyers how the Manchester United player will plead, having been re-accused of the allegation in May this year.
It's hardly the start the South American would have wanted to his time playing for the Premier League giants, as he looks to forge a new chapter in his career playing in England's top-flight.
The 24-year-old rose to prominence after a series of impressive performances for Argentina at the World Cup, earning him a big-money move to Manchester United where he penned a five-year deal.
Rojo is still waiting for his work permit to be approved, so won't be available for selection for Sunday's trip to the Stadium of Light where the Red Devils face Sunderland, looking to bounce back from last weekend's surprise 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Swansea City.
