You have to have a big ego, generally, to cope with the fame, but there comes to points where all the pressure can spill over and there's no exception for tennis stars.
Being a sport for individuals, any mistakes made are highlighted further, it's not as if teammates or management can cover up for errors.
Crazy
Down the years we have seen plenty of loose cannons. In fact John McEnroe, despite his talent and success, is perhaps better known for his on-court meltdowns and tantrums; he must be sick of hearing 'you cannot be serious.'
McEnroe isn't in his own league, however, and plenty of the current stars on-tour can be characterized by their craziness.
