Chelsea have completed a deal to bring former Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow to the club, reports the Daily Star.
Purslow - who left Anfield in 2011 - has taken the role of the Blues' new head of global commercial activities, as the club go in search of dominance in all areas on and off the pitch.
It appears, then, that as the Chelsea hierarchy look to improve their global image, Purslow will play a huge role in expanding their brand around the world.
Chelsea certainly believe that the 50-year-old will play a key role in helping them achieve their goals over the coming months and years, as a club statement said:
"The club believes Mr Purslow has the vision and the leadership qualities to help us achieve these plans."

Purslow certainly proved his credentials on Merseyside throughout his Anfield tenure, as he initially played a key role in helping generate revenue for the club, before taking up a role as a special advisor and non-executive director.
It remains to be seen as to how much of an impact he will have at Chelsea over the course of the next couple of years, but it certainly appears that the club are in extremely capable and experienced hands.
On the pitch
Chelsea, then, appear to be getting things right off the pitch, whilst the club look formidable on it despite only managing to secure a point at Old Trafford against Manchester United yesterday.
The Blues looked on course to secure all three points against Louis van Gaal's side yesterday afternoon, before Robin van Persie's late goal spoiled things for Mourinho. However, with the Stamford Bridge outfit currently sitting top of the Premier League, they look a force to be reckoned with this season, and will take some stopping before now and the end of the campaign.
Chelsea are next in action against Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup tomorrow evening, as the club look to continue their progression in the competition.
