First to the ISPS Handa Perth International where Thorbjorn Olesen shares the first round lead with the unheralded Australian, John Wade. The 46 year old had to go through Monday qualifying to earn his place at Lake Karrin-yup Country Club. But despite that, he leads ahead of Major winners Charl Schwartzel and Jason Dufner, who are four under and two under respectively.
The Blue Bay LPGA is also underway in China, with Jessica Korda, out in front. At six under, she is one shot clear of a chasing pack that includes last week’s winner Shan-shan Feng and Michelle Wie.
And finally, fans of Patrick Reed will be delighted to hear he has finally joined twitter! No doubt the American was expecting his fair share of banter from the twitter fraternity, but the first shot came from his Ryder Cup team mate Bubba Watson. Much like at Gleneagles though, Reed took the comments in his stride. The self-proclaimed top five player in the world enjoyed playing the pantomime villain at Gleneagles, but proved a good sport at last week's Volvo World Match Play Championship by posing with his European counterparts to recreate the infamous ‘shh’ sign – a photo he duly retweeted.
That’s all for today, but join us again tomorrow. In the meantime you can see more at golfingworld.tv, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram. Bye for now.
