Juan Mata has the best first touch in the Premier League

Juan Mata shows off his incredible first touch.

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata showed Chelsea exactly what they’re missing by proving that no Premier League player comes close to him when it comes to his first touch.

F2Freestylers put Mata to the test but booting the ball high in the air and shouting for Mata to kill the ball with a single touch - and the technically-gifted Spain international didn’t disappoint.

Mata left Chelsea in January

Mata produced a Ronaldinho-esque first touch which will leave Manchester United fans wondering why Louis van Gaal has left the attacking midfielder out of the Red Devils’ starting line-up for the last two matches.

It’ll also leave Chelsea supporters even angrier about Jose Mourinho’s controversial decision to offload the former Valencia star back in January.

Mata to return to United's starting XI

Mata should return to Manchester United’s starting eleven for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash against Everton, with captain Wayne Rooney suspended after picking up a red card against West Ham last weekend.

The Spaniard has scored eight goals in his last 11 appearances, and will use the next three matches to prove to Van Gaal that he deserves a permanent place in Manchester United’s starting line-up.

Failure to nail down a starting place could tempt him to move elsewhere in January, particularly as he was left out of the latest Spain squad for the forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.

Mata would have no shortage of potential suitors, but the major of Manchester United fans will be desperately hoping that he stays put at Old Trafford.
