Antonio Conte said he was taking the rumours that he will be sacked by Chelsea ‘with a smile’ today.
Betting firms slashed the odds on the Italian being given the boot yesterday, with one even going as far as to suspend betting altogether. It came after a flurry of bets on Conte’s reign at Stamford Bridge being ended just a couple of months after it had started.
Asked about the situation during his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game against Leicester, Conte laughed them off.
‘I’m trying to find who put the money in!’ the former Juventus manager quipped.

‘It’s very difficult to talk about this situation because I’m focused on my work and about how to improve the team and I __have good communication with the club. I take this with a smile.’
He continued: ‘We are working very hard to change the situation of the past. All over the last season. We are trying to build something important for the present and the future and that can only be with work over time.
‘It’s important to be focused on our target now.’
Chelsea host Leicester at Stamford Bridge tomorrow at 12.30pm.
