UFC president Dana White has insisted Conor McGregor will __have to give up one belt if he beats Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to become a two-weight champion.
McGregor is bidding to become the first ever UFC fighter to hold two belts at the same time and takes on the lightweight champion at the landmark event at Madison Square Garden on November 12.

The Irishman has already insisted once he wins the lightweight belt that the UFC will need an army to take them from his shoulders, but White has explained that will not be the case.
‘If he wins, he’ll hold two belts,’ said White.
‘Then he’ll decide which one he wants to give back to me. He can’t hold both.
‘He’ll have accomplished this.

White’s insistence is set to put him on a collision with the featherweight champion who has previously clashed with the UFC president over media commitments and recently forced the fight with Alvarez.
McGregor was suppose to fight Jose Aldo in a unification fight at UFC 205 with Alvarez up against title contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, but the Irishman and the reigning lightweight champion are believed to have insisted on a clash.
