Manchester United fans hit out at Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese boss left midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan out of his squad to face Fenerbahce on Thursday night.
The Armenian was expected to start for the first time in six weeks against the Turkish giants but didn’t even make the bench for the game at the Theatre of Dreams.
The 27-year-old has made just one start for the Red Devils since his £26million move from Dortmund in the summer but he’s yet to get going under Mourinho.
Mkhitaryan was left out of Armenia’s squad for the international break in order to return to fitness and he’s been training for three weeks.
Mourinho confirmed on Tuesday that the midfielder was fit again but he was then left out completely from the side’s squad to play Fenerbahce.
After seeing so little of the midfielder since his arrival, United fans were far from pleased about the news and hit out at Mourinho for overlooking the Armenian.
