Nathaniel Clyne has warned that Liverpool cannot afford to give Marcus Rashord space in Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Monday evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side host Jose Mourinho’s men at Anfield and a win could put them top of the Premier League.

Rashford has been one of the standout stars of United’s season so far with four goals in eight appearances, and Clyne has revealed that his plan is to get tight to the 18-year-old.

‘He can play everywhere – Rashford could be coming up against me,’ Clyne told Goal.

‘He can play as a left winger. He is a direct player, every time he gets the ball he wants to go forward so I definitely __have to be on my toes and at my best ability to play against him.

“I will __have to make sure I get tight to him, not let him have much of the ball and not let him get space.

‘When quality players get space, they can do anything.’
