Tottenham midfielder Heung-Min Son has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September.

The South Korea international had a stunning month for Spurs with four goals and an assist in three games.

Son fended off competition from Kevin De Bruyne, Adam Lallana, Theo Walcott and Romelu Lukaku to win the award for the first time in his career.

‘This is my dream, to get the award,’ Son said.

‘I want to get it a second time, a third time. When I take the award home my family will be crazy like you can’t believe; they will be really happy.’

Son’s first start of the season came in the 4-1 victory over Stoke City on September 10 and he struck twice for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The 24-year-old also netted both goals in the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on September 24.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was named Premier League Manager of the Month, while Jordan Henderson’s strike against Chelsea was the Goal of the Month.
