Jose Mourinho has aimed a dig at Jurgen Klopp after Manchester United secured their place in the EFL Cup final against Southampton next month.
United edged past Hull City on aggregate after being beaten 2-1 by Marco Silva’s side on Thursday evening, while Liverpool suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Wednesday.
After the loss at Anfield, Klopp believed his Liverpool players struggled to cope with the wind and blamed the conditions for his side’s inability to get a result.
And Mourinho aimed a sly barb at the Liverpool manager’s excuse when speaking about United’s trip at Wembley on February 26.
‘I don’t think we are favourites against nobody,’ said the United boss.
‘It doesn’t matter against who or where, we are never favourites. Normally the stadium is windy and it’s difficult.’
