Chelsea stars Diego Costa and Victor Moses reportedly suffered with the same illness which kept Marcos Alonso out of the side’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera either side of the break saw Jose Mourinho’s side come away from Old Trafford with three points, opening up the Premier League title race once again.

The Telegraph suggest Costa, Moses and Alonso all missed training on Friday due to sickness but the Spanish wing-back passed himself fit for the clash.

However, Alonso pulled up in Chelsea’s pre-match warm-up which prompted a tactical switch from Antonio Conte – and the club believe this may __have contributed towards the side’s poor showing.

Both Costa and Moses started the Old Trafford encounter but the out-of-form striker put in another sup-bar performance and the defender was brought off in only the 54th minute.

An injury to Thibaut Courtois also derailed the league leaders ahead of the match and it’s believed the Belgian will miss out on this weekend’s FA Cup showdown with Tottenham.
