Andy Murray ordered to clean his hotel after poor hygiene inspection

Andy Murray cannot seem to avoid bad news at the moment. Fresh from his failed US Open campaign, the 27-year-old has had his luxury hotel blacklisted by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The British no.1 opened Cromlix House, a multi-million pound project, earlier this year and it has already been voted as 'Hotel Of The Year'.

However it would seem as though the honeymoon period for the accommodation in Murray's hometown of Dunblane is well and truly over.

Inspection

Stirling Council failed the hotel in an inspection in July and the FSA have now removed it from their approved eateries list as it fell short of the required lawful standard. They won't overturn that decision until another inspection is undertaken. 

The luxury mansion is owned by Murray and the Scot has employed famous chefs Albert Roux and Darin Campbell to run what is supposed to be a world-class kitchen. 

Cromlix House have since played down the issue, however, insisting that only a handwash sink was to blame but the news will come as another blow to Murray. Things don't seem to be going right for the two-time major champion on or off-court at the moment.

Tough time

Murray is going through an elongated lean spell at the moment, he hasn't won a title since Wimbledon over a year ago and has now lost his place in the top 10 of the world rankings for the first time since 2008. 

The former world no.3 is now facing a battle to reach the season-ending ATP tour finals at the O2 Arena in London, only the world's top eight can reach the event and Murray has been forced to accept a wildcard entry to the China Open later this month to boost his ranking points. 

Aside from the inaugural tournament in Shenzhen, the world no.11 only has Masters 1000 outings in Shanghai and Paris left to boom his place at the finals - and he'll need strong performances at all of them to catch up with the likes of US Open winner Marin Cilic and other lower top eight members; including Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer.  

Strictly pain

While plotting with coach Amelie Mauresmo to eradicate problems in his game, Murray will also have a challenge to stay clear of television sets over the upcoming weekend evenings.

His mother, Judy, coach of Great Britain's Fed Cup team, has signed up for BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing'; something that the 58-year-old has already revealed is mortifying for Andy.
