Yorkshire continued their relentless charge towards the County Championship title as they pushed home their advantage against Nottinghamshire on day two at Trent Bridge as the hosts ended the day on 58-4, trailing by 474 runs.
Resuming on 319-4 Yorkshire continued their impressive batting display. England's Gary Ballance fell just one run short of his century but Yorkshire's middle order ensured their first innings was substantial enough to heap huge pressure on Notts, who needed to win to the keep title race alive.
Jack Leaning (42), Adil Rashid (42) and Tim Bresnan (95) impressed with the bat for Yorkshire as they declared on 532-9.

Nottinghamshire endure poor start
Nottinghamshire knew that anything other than a comprehensive batting display would leave Yorkshire champions and they got off to a terrible start in reply.
The home side were reduced to 12-3 and then 25-4 as Yorkshire's bowlers gained the upper-hand. Alex Hales, James Taylor and Samit Patel were all dismissed without scoring as veteran Ryan Sidebottom (2-20) and Jack Brooks (2-23) put Yorkshire in the driving seat.
Notts dig deep
Notts dug deep in the closing overs of the day as they ended on 58-4 with Michael Lumb (35*) and Mattheus Wessels (14*) the not out batsmen but there is still plenty to do when they resume in the morning.
On day three Yorkshire will be looking to drive home their advantage and ensure the follow-on is enforced. Notts will hope to salvage some pride as they have been outplayed for the majority of the match so far and will be looking to avoid a defeat inside three days, which will give Yorkshire their first title triumph since 2001.
