Golfing World News - October 22

GW News: Jason Dufner makes comeback at Perth International (©GettyImages).

We start in Australia where Jason Dufner makes his first appearance in almost three months at the Perth International. Dufner has been out of action since withdrawing from this years PGA Championship with a neck injury. The enforced lay off also kept him out of the Ryder Cup, although Dufner has admitted he didn't watch a single minute of action from Gleneagles. Instead, he spent his time out with his wife, watching football and cooking.

It’s been a busy few days for Ian Poulter, with a new book about to hit the stands, he has also taken to Twitter to announce his new deal equipment deal: having split with Cobra - Puma Golf last week, Poulter will now become a staff player for Titleist and Footjoy. And with the Ryder Cup never far from his mind, the charismatic Englishman has admitted he would love to lead Europe later on in his career; but for the next match, has joined Rory McIlroy in backing Darren Clarke to be appointed the next Captain for Hazeltine in 2016.

And finally, if you’re looking for a new refreshing taste at the 19th hole, look no further than the line of craft beers that Graeme McDowell, Keegan Bradley and Freddie Jacobson have teamed up to produce. The trio have set up the Golf Beer Brewing Company and developed their own tipples. G-Mac’s Celtic Pale Ale, Bradley’s New England Lager or Jacobson’s Scandinavian Blonde Ale will all be available to the public in early 2015.

That’s it for today’s news, we’ll be back tomorrow but in the meantime you can find us at golfingworld.tv or on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Bye for now.
