Chelsea legend Frank Lampard aiming to one day manage the Blues

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is aiming to one become manager of the club.

Currently plying his trade for New York City in the MLS, the 38-year-old has changed his mind after earlier indicating that he wasn’t interested in coaching once he retired.

‘If I was good enough, if they wanted me and it was the right time,’ Lampard said of one day managing the Londoners on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

‘As a Chelsea man or not, the job is one of the pinnacles of football, they are one of the top clubs in the world now. And I’m a Chelsea man. I wouldn’t __have to move house!

‘It might be a different route for me and might take a while but the dream would be to manage Chelsea one day.’

He added: ‘I’m more back onto it but the problem is getting my badges now. And having time to do it when I’m still playing.

‘As soon as I finish I would like to take it up and maybe be a manager. It’s hard as I only want the Chelsea job!’

Lampard appears to __have some way to go before this though, with the midfielder still in fine form for New York City.

He has 12 goals in 18 MLS games this season, after a slow start to his career in the USA.
