Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh has warned Eddie Alvarez that the featherweight champion has never been in such incredible shape ahead of their UFC 205 fight.

Alvarez is the only man standing between McGregor and making UFC history with the Irishman bidding to take the American’s lightweight belt and become the first ever two-weight champion.

McGregor has adopted a new fitness regime since his shock loss to Nate Diaz in March and Kavanagh took to Instagram to warn Alvarez and everyone else in the UFC that he has never seen the 28-year-old in the kind of shape he is now.

Great sparring today with @thenotoriousmma @dillondanis and Nikolay Grozdez. With almost 5 weeks to go I've never seen Conor fitter, faster or sharper. #ufc205 #reebokcombat

Kavanagh is the founder of SBG Gym in Ireland in which McGregor was nurtured as a future champion and is holding the latest training camp for the Irishman in Dublin.

McGregor has again enlisted the help of Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion Dillon Danis and has also taken on the advice and training of freestyle wrestling expert Sergei Pikulski.

Alvarez is well-known for his ability as a wrestler with the 32-year-old warning McGregor he will not be able to handle his style in the octagon.

McGregor and Alvarez head the bill of a massive New York main card with six major outs taking up the fight card including three title fights.
