Angelique Kerber, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Coco Vandeweghe are through to the last-16 of the Australian Open after winning their third-round matches.

World No. 1 swept through her third round match against Krystina Pliskova, winning 6-0 6-4 on Rod Laver.

Russian eighth seed Kuznetsova had to work much harder against former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic, winning 6-4 5-7 9-7 in a match that lasted more than three and a half hours.

The 31-year-old is a two-time Grand Slam champion, with her last title coming at the French Open in 2009, but she has not been past the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park.

However, she’s in excellent form and she’s set up a fourth-round tie with compatriot Pavlyuchenkova after the 24th seed took out Elina Svitolina.
