Julian Draxler admits Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil would be a welcome addition to the Paris Saint-Germain squad.

The German playmaker joined PSG during the January transfer window, leaving Wolfsburg to pen a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 giants.

Draxler, 23, was a long-term target for several Premier League clubs – including Arsenal – but opted to join Unai Emery’s side.

And after ignoring interest from the Gunners, Draxler has risked the wrath of Arsenal fans further by admitting he wants to play alongside Ozil… at PSG.

In an interview with French outlet beIN SPORTS, Draxler said: ‘There is one but I’m afraid it’ll put me in difficulty if I say it. I’d like to see Mesut Ozil here.

‘He can play in any team in the world. So if he wants to come, he will be welcome from my side anyway.’

Draxler and Ozil were at FC Schalke 04 together but the current Arsenal star broke into the first-team while Draxler was only 13.

By the time Draxler was offered a taste of first-team football, Ozil had left Werder Bremen to join La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.

The midfield duo have, however, spent much time together with Germany – the pair both took home World Cup winners medals from Brazil in 2014.
