It might not __have been the goal fest many predicted but Man City v Liverpool didn’t disappoint.
The game was littered with chances, frenetic play, moments of brilliance and controversial incidents before it ultimately ended up all square at 1-1 through goals from James Milner and Sergio Aguero.

Man City dominated the early period and should __have gone ahead through Raheem Sterling but somehow the ball didn’t end up in the back of the net. With the goal gaping, Milner appeared to foul the England forward but nothing was given and Liverpool escaped.
The visitors grew as the first half continued and had some strong shouts for a penalty waved away.

The failure to punish Milner was made all the worse when the left-back converted a penalty against his former club. Gael Clichy clumsily challenged Roberto Firmino inside the box and referee Michael Oliver had no hesitation pointing to the spot.

Liverpool’s lead lasted 18 minutes before Aguero brought things level. The Argentinean just needed to tap in from a wonderful cross from Kevin De Bruyne.
Both sides had excellent chances to claim all three points and boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League – none more so than Adam Lallana. A beautifully worked move needed the Liverpool midfielder to simply tap home unmarked but somehow he managed to miscue his shot.
With just a few minutes remaining Aguero had a chance to double the lead but fired over the bar.
